To briefly summarize, the purpose of this study was to define the subsurface conditions at our current site and develop geotechnical parameters related to design and construction of the project. Borings were drilled at 9 locations around the property. The report outlines the observations made from these borings.
The northwest side of our property (near the grotto) has very high ground water. There is also an area of extremely soft soil located between the upper and lower lots. It is not advised that we build in these locations, as mitigating these conditions would be very costly.
Therefore, our contracted engineers are advising that we pursue more borings in the south, central, and east portions of the lot (seen in yellow below) to further investigate those areas for a new building site.
Next weekend, October 24 & 25, we plan to have a more in-depth report on our campaign and the opportunity for Q&A after the Masses.
