THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY Welcome, and many blessings to you as you walk with the Lord in preparation for receiving the sacrament of Matrimony! A couple is asked to contact the parish office and priest before a date is set, to ensure time for preparation and calendar availability. A 9 month preparation period is required to prepare the couple for the sacrament. Engaged couples can preview the marriage prep process here. The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.
